The city of Ankeny has announced the first phase of the Rally Complex sports facility is now open. Located at 725 S.W. Prairie Trail Parkway, the complex features 12 lighted outdoor pickleball courts, restrooms, a shelter, two softball fields and batting cages. The softball fields and batting cages are still under construction, a news release said. The facility aims to fully open later this summer. “Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country and Ankeny is proud to invest in facilities that bring people together,” Nick Lenox, director of Ankeny Parks & Recreation, said in a prepared statement. “The Rally Complex meets a growing demand and gives our community a dedicated space to play, compete and connect.”
