The West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce has opened applications for the 2025 Reignite CommUNITY event until May 30. The event focuses on action and impact around four pillars: educate, elevate, celebrate and motivate and is designed to strengthen businesses, organizations and communities through conversation and recognition. Reignite CommUNITY will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Des Moines Botanical Garden and will include activities, entertainment and awards. Award categories are: small business (1-49 employees), medium business (50-249 employees), large business (250+ employees), nonprofit, government, education sector, leader of the year (age 40+), emerging leader of the year (39 and under), student leader of the year and best inclusion initiative.
