Accumold ceremonially broke ground today on a 40,000-square-foot expansion of its Ankeny facility, its second expansion project in four years. The $10 million project, first announced in February, will enable Accumold to hire more than 200 additional employees in the next three years. The expanded facility will be capable of withstanding an F-5 tornado. Accumold President and CEO Roger Hargens said in a release that the expansion reflects the company’s mission as “an innovation leader that taps the creativity, ingenuity and work ethic that represent the best of Iowa.” Accumold is a global leader in the design, development and production of micro-engineered parts for various high-tech industries.
