Adventureland fined $37,000 after Dragon roller coaster car hits worker

Des Moines Register: Adventureland Park has been fined more than $37,000 by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration after an employee was struck by a car in August while working on the Dragon roller coaster. The unnamed worker was performing a biweekly oiling routine Aug. 5 when a co-worker released the train car, according to citation documents. The car struck the employee on the right arm, causing a laceration and a broken bone and requiring the worker to be hospitalized.
