Hackers threaten to release names from adultery website
CNNMoney: A dating website that helps married people cheat has been hit by hackers who threatened to release information about millions of its customers. Ashley Madison, which uses the advertising slogan “Life is short. Have an affair,” said Monday it had been attacked and some user data was stolen. The website, which claims to have 37 million members, has in the past bragged about its data security.
Blackstone leader: Hidden crisis in America that no one is talking about
Business Insider: Blackstone President and COO Tony James, in an earnings call last week, said: “The hidden crisis in America that no one is talking about is what’s going to happen with all of these 20-, 30-, 40-year-olds who no longer have corporate pension funds of defined benefit.” He continued, “So they have got 401(k)s, and they are making little contributions in there, which is earning very, very little.” Blackstone is a global investment firm.
Gold prices plunge to five-year low
CNNMoney: Gold plunged to its lowest level in five years on Monday, triggered by heavy selling overnight and signs Chinese demand may be weaker than expected. Prices plunged by as much as $40 an ounce in minutes when Asian markets began trading Sunday before stabilizing in European trade. By 9:15 am EDT, the metal was down about 2 percent at $1,110, having dived below $1,100 — a level not seen since 2010.
