Airport to conduct emergency drills
The Des Moines airport will conduct a full-scale emergency exercise on Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon. The simulation is required by federal regulations and will involve 175 volunteers playing the part of passengers and responders in a role-playing exercise. More than 30 agencies will participate. Motorists will see many emergency vehicles near the airport during the drills.
