American Enterprise names three new board members, releases annual report
Des Moines-based American Enterprise Group Inc. announced the appointment of three industry leaders to the board of American Enterprise Mutual Holding Co., the parent company of AEG. The new board members are Susan Harnett, James Whisler and Gary Scholten. Harnett, who spent most of her career with Citibank, is currently an independent director of OFG Bancorp and Life Storage Inc. Since 2015, she has been a senior adviser to digital startups and mentor at the FinTech Innovation Lab, a New York City-based business development program. Whisler spent over 30 years of his career with global consultancy Deloitte, where he led projects for health care companies before retiring in 2020. Scholten was chief information officer at Principal Financial Group for 18 years, with a total tenure of 40 years with the company before retiring in 2020. He was recently named an MIT Research Fellow and is involved in a leadership capacity with several technology startups. AEG’s board also released the company’s 2021 annual report at its recent annual meeting. American Enterprise Group Inc. operates multiple insurance company subsidiaries under the American Republic, Great Western Insurance Co. and Medico brands.
