Kim Frey has been named the new Ames Main Street director and Ames Chamber of Commerce membership coordinator. Frey began her new duties on Feb. 1. According to a news release, Frey comes to Ames from the Princeton, Ill., Chamber of Commerce, where she served as executive director for more than 10 years. In her new role, Frey will guide and direct all Ames Main Street initiatives related to events and business relations, and support chamber membership in various capacities. “Kim’s experience and passion for building community relationships and enhancing the downtown experience is a tremendous asset to the Ames Main Street organization,” said John Hall, vice president for business development and former Ames Main Street director. In the release, Frey said she’s looking forward “to working with downtown businesses to build upon the strong foundation we have to create an even more dynamic district.”
