The Ames Economic Development Commission has hired John Hall as the director of business development and marketing. Hall, currently executivedirector of the Story City Greater Chamber Connection, will begin his new job Dec. 14. In this position, which is a joint venture between the AEDC and the City of Ames, Hall will serve be a liaison between the city and private developers as well as companies that are looking to locate in Ames. Hall also will handle the commission’s marketing strategy and follow up with companies that have expressed interest in the Ames area. Hall, who has a degree in political science from Iowa State University, has worked in Ames, Cedar Rapids, Indianola and Des Moines on various political campaigns.
