Ankeny council approves development agreement with Echo Group

The Ankeny City Council this week approved a development agreement with Echo Group Inc., which plans to construct a $12 million warehouse and distribution center at Southeast Delaware Avenue and Southeast Corporate Woods Drive. According to the development agreement, Ankeny will provide the company with up to $830,000 in tax increment financing rebates over five years. In return, the company will construct a 103,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution center on the property. In addition, the company will add 17 new positions to its current staff of 62, according to the document.
