The city of Ankeny is conducting a survey to gauge how residents feel about public transportation. The survey ends on Aug. 13. Ankeny is currently served by several routes and services provided by the Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority.

  • Express Route 98 travels between three Park & Ride locations and various stops in Ankeny (including DMACC’s Ankeny Campus, MercyOne North campus, and Hawkeye Park) and downtown Des Moines.
  • Local Route 4 extends on certain trips on weekdays to travel from employers along Corporate Woods Drive and DART Central Station with stops in north Des Moines.
  • Ankeny On Call is a door-to-door service allowing riders to schedule trips within a transportation zone in Ankeny on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
  • DART Paratransit and DART Bus Plus are services to provide transportation to Ankeny residents who are either senior citizens or who have disabilities which prevent them from being able to independently use DART’s regular fixed-route service.

City officials are asking all residents, whether they ride DART or not, to participate in the survey.
