Ankeny to hold groundbreaking ceremony for new library

Ankeny voters last year approved an $8.5 million bond referendum to fund the library, which will be located at 1250 S.W. District Drive. Ankeny was recently ranked the fourth-fastest-growing city in the nation and the fastest-growing city in Iowa with more than 50,000 population. The new library will be in a 50,000-square-foot building that will also house Ankeny’s City Council chambers.
