The Healthiest State Initiative and Active Living Iowa are seeking applicants for the second Iowa Walking College. The six-month interactive educational program was created to increase the number of walking advocates in local communities across the state. It was launched as a pilot program in 2017 and built around the National Walking College curriculum created by America Walks. Twenty fellowships will be awarded to Iowans working as community change agents. The fellows may be working alone, in organizations, or in professions such as public health, development, planning, transportation, economic development or education.
