Six Iowa architecture firms received excellence in design awards during the fall convention of the Iowa chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Neumann Monson Architects received Honor awards for the designs of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ankeny, One Place at Riverfront Crossings in Iowa City and the Coralville Intermodal Transit Facility. Merit awards were presented to ASK Studio for the Adair County Engineer Office Building located in Greenfield, BNIM Architects for the Pacific Center Campus and Development Building in San Diego, Calif., Neumann Monson Architects for Market One in Des Moines, OPN Architects for the Delta Dental Insurance headquarters expansion in Johnston and Substance Architecture for the Faegre Baker Daniels Law Firm office renovation in Des Moines. Craft awards were presented to Neumann Monson Architects, Johnson Machine Works and SKS Homes for the refacing of the Keller Williams Realty Commercial office in West Des Moines; OPN Architects, Historic Surfaces, Conrad Schmitt and Olympic for the Paramount Theatre restoration in Cedar Rapids; and Studio Melee and Jared Jones Construction for the Design Studio and Workshop in Des Moines.
