98 wordsAll Latest News, Real Estate and DevelopmentThe Iowa Architectural Foundation is hosting a one-day walking tour called “Reaching New Heights.” The tour will celebrate the 1970s architecture of downtown Des Moines, highlighting three prominent buildings: the Financial Center, the Ruan Center and the Civic Center. Architectural historian Jennifer James developed the tour after researching the history of the Financial Center. Two socially distanced sidewalk tours are planned for Oct. 10; the first begins at 11 a.m. and the second at 12:30 p.m. Each tour group is limited to 15 people. Tickets cost $30.
