Several events are scheduled next week as part of the inaugural Des Moines Art Week, a new event designed to celebrate art and generate excitement for the annual Des Moines Arts Festival, scheduled July 26-28. Art Week kicks off June 22. Event organizers David Safris and Liz Adelman worked with the community to encourage groups to host a variety of events during the week. In response, events planned include a 48-hour “painting frenzy” hosted by the Des Moines Social Club, an exhibit of Thomas C. Jackson digital photography collages at Proof restaurant and kite night at 515 Brewing Company.
