Asian Garden improvement project receives state grant

A $702,500 effort to improve the Robert D. Ray Asian Garden along the Des Moines River in downtown Des Moines will receive a $92,500 grant from the state’s Community Attraction and Tourism fund. The grant was among the $675,000 awarded today to three projects by the Enhance Iowa board. The $20.2 million construction of the Downtown Davenport YMCA will receive $500,000 and construction of a city park in Milford will receive $82,500.
