AT&T, others, urged to help stop cyber attacks
Internet service providers, led by AT&T Inc. and Comcast Corp., are being urged by U.S. regulators to help users fend of malicious software that can turn home computers into stealthy weapons for criminals, Bloomberg reported. Companies should work to detect the malicious software, and need to help educate and notify consumers, according to a report devised by an advisory group called the Communications Security, Reliability and Interoperability Council. The council urged companies to adopt practices to help stop the hijacking of Internet traffic to unintended destinations and to prevent the posting of fake Web pages. For more information, click here.
