Aureon HR, a subsidiary of West Des Moines-based business solutions company Aureon, has successfully completed its first SOC (System and Organization Controls) 1 Type 1 examination. The successful completion of the examination makes Aureon HR one of only a few professional employer organizations in the United States and, according to Aureon, the first in Iowa, to attain the certification. The examination, performed by an independent accounting firm using standards developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, provides clients and prospects with an assurance that controls are in place relevant to financial reporting, operational processes and data security standards. The Type 1 examination was the first step in the company’s journey to achieving a SOC 1 Type 2 report.
