Aust named ISU Outstanding Young Alumni

141 wordsAll Latest News, Real Estate and DevelopmentThe Iowa State University Alumni Association will recognize Mindy Aust, principal of Substance Architecture in Des Moines, with the Outstanding Young Alumni Award. The award honors alumni age 40 and under who have excelled in their professions and provided service to their communities. Aust has led high-profile projects such as the restoration and recovery of the Cedar Rapids Federal Courthouse following the floods of 2008 and two recent major projects on the Iowa State University campus: the renovation of Marston Hall and the creation of ISU’s new campuswide Student Innovation Center. She is one of seven Iowans who have received the prestigious AIA National Young Architect Award. The award will be presented during the 87th Annual Honors & Awards Ceremony in Benton Auditorium of ISU’s Scheman Building on Friday at 1:15 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
