The Independent Community Bankers of America’s Independent Banker magazine has selected Emily Stork, senior vice president and general counsel at Bankers Trust, for its 2021 40 Under 40: Emerging Community Bank Leaders awards. The award recognizes community-minded, innovative leaders under 40 years old who represent the future of the community banking industry. Stork joined Des Moines-based Bankers Trust in 2017. She was recently recognized locally by the Business Record as a member of its 2021 Forty Under 40 class, and she was a member of the Iowa Bankers Association’s inaugural Leaders in Advocacy program in 2019. Another Iowa banker, Karl Metcalf, vice president of Iowa State Bank & Trust Co. in Fairfield, was also named to the ICBA’s 2021 Forty Under 40 class.
