Above + Beyond Cancer announced it has hired Melinda Behn as its director of development and outreach. The Des Moines-area nonprofit organization is dedicated to elevating the lives of those touched by cancer to create a healthier world. Behn, who since 2010 has been president and CEO of the Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce, has more than 15 years of experience in nonprofit management. Her background includes work in strategic planning, business advocacy, community development, fundraising, budget planning and volunteer recruitment, motivation and recognition. She has previously held various roles with the Altoona Area Chamber of Commerce, Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, and Macy’s north headquarters. She completed the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management and graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in communication.
