BHE Renewables has acquired the Independence wind energy project from RPM Access LLC. According to a release from Businesswire, the project is located near Ryan, in eastern Iowa’s Delaware County. It consists of 18 2.8-megawatt turbines and two 2.3-megawatt turbines. The project will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2021, and serve Central Iowa Power Cooperative under a 20-year power purchase agreement. “The addition of the Independence wind project grows our wind energy portfolio to 1,719 megawatts and provides another opportunity for us to meet the growing demand for energy generated from renewable resources,” Alicia Knapp, president and CEO of BHE Renewables, said in the release.
