Des Moines Register: President-elect Joe Biden tapped former Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack today for a second stint as secretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, asking him to lead the $150 billion agency that’s key to setting policy for farmers and helping feed the nation’s disadvantaged. The announcement by the Biden transition team came after news organizations in Washington, D.C., citing people familiar with the decision, reported Tuesday night that Biden would select Vilsack for the post. Vilsack served eight years as agriculture secretary under President Barack Obama.
