Blender pump program extended

85 wordsAll Latest News, Energy, Government Policy and LawState lawmakers have voted to extend a $3 million program that provides cost-share grants to Iowa retailers wishing to upgrade their fuel systems to offer a variety of ethanol and biodiesel blends, the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association reported. The program has funded 782 projects for blender pumps, storage tanks and other equipment. Reimbursement can be up to 70 percent of the installation costs, up to a maximum of $50,000 per project. Recipients commit to selling the higher percentage biofuel blends for at least five years.
