Urbandale residents today are voting on whether to authorize the city to pay up to $43 million for the design, construction and outfitting of a community recreation center proposed for the southeast corner of Meredith Drive and 152nd Street in the Walnut Creek Regional Park. The Urbandale Community Recreation Complex, called the U-Plex for short, would include indoor and outdoor activities for all ages. To pass, 60% of voters must approve the bond referendum.
