Harry Bookey’s BH Management Services LLC and BH Equities LLC rank, again, among the nation’s largest apartment owners and operators, according to the National Multifamily Housing Council. BH Management Services, with more than 80,000 units under its control, was No. 9 on a list of the largest management companies, climbing three spots from 2017. BH Equities was ranked No. 17, with ownership of more than 49,000 units. Bookey is the majority owner of both entities, serving as chairman and CEO of BH Equities and chairman of BH Management Services. The BH portfolio covers 21 states, with properties as far west as Arizona and Colorado and as far east as Florida and Maryland, with the largest concentration of properties in Texas and the southeast. In total, the company employs more than 2,000 multifamily professionals, including more than 180 in Iowa. Last year, the BH companies were named a “Great Place to Work for Women” by Fortune magazine.
