Bravo Greater Des Moines honored the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden, Pyramid Theatre Company and Des Moines Business Record Chairman Connie Wimer during its annual gala Saturday. The Botanical Garden won the Encore Award for exceptional contributions to the region’s culture. Pyramid Theatre Co. received the Standing Ovation Award for its programmatic development and operational excellence. Wimer received the Bravo Award for her contribution to the arts in Central Iowa. A founding member of Bravo, Wimer is the first woman to win the award. Nora Everett, president of retirement and income solutions at Principal Financial Group, and Mary Coffin, executive vice president and head of customer excellence at Wells Fargo Home Lending, were the first female honorary co-chairs.
