The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa on Wednesday celebrated the opening of its new Studebaker Club in Des Moines, the final club opening of the Club Pathways capital campaign the organization launched in 2017. Located at Studebaker Elementary School on the south side of Des Moines, the newest club officially opened to members on June 6. The Studebaker Club offers members special features like STEM and robotics equipment, Lego walls, table games and a renovated playground area with a basketball court and soccer field. The opening of Studebaker marks a major milestone toward completion of the Club Pathways capital campaign: designating creation of three new metro clubs, including the Gregory & Suzie Glazer Burt Club at Drake University and E.T. Meredith Jr. Club at East High School. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa now serves more than 2,600 members in eight metro club locations. “The growth our organization has achieved during the past several years has been phenomenal, thanks to incredible donors, partners, board members and dedicated staff,” said Tony Timm, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa. “Our Club Pathways campaign has ensured kids in the Des Moines metro will receive the services they need to achieve great futures.”
