Branstad joins other governors supporting pending trade agreements
Gov. Terry Branstad and a bipartisan group of 24 other governors are urging President Barack Obama and Congress to pass three pending trade agreements with Colombia, Panama and South Korea. In addition, the governors are seeking support of the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program and fast-track trade negotiation authority for the president. The agreements would result in the creation of 5,000 jobs in Iowa’s beef, pork and poultry industries, according to a news release from the governor’s office.
