Brenna Bird, who has served as legal counsel for Gov. Terry Branstad since 2011, has resigned. Bird, whose name was Brenna Findley previously, served as chief of staff for Congressman Steve King and ran unsuccessfully for Iowa attorney general. She said she plans to pursue a non-government position. Her last day on Branstad’s staff will be Friday. Michael Bousselot, 32, who currently serves as a policy adviser in Branstad’s office, will replace Bird. Read more
