Des Moines Performing Arts, in partnership with “The Bridges of Madison County,” is creating experiences for Iowans that go beyond the stage. The organization, which will open the Tony Award-winning musical Nov. 28 at the Des Moines Civic Center, is presenting two competitions for local artists. The competitions, which are open to the public, are “The World Inside a Frame” photography competition and the “Bridges Covered” music competition. Both competitions will culminate with gallery exhibits and a concert. In addition to sharing their work with the public, featured photographers and musicians will receive a complimentary pair of tickets to the musical.
