Slowing demand for farm equipment has prompted the Bridgestone farm tire manufacturing plant in Des Moines to lay off 69 workers, beginning this week, reports DesMoinesRegister.com. Under an agreement with United Steel Workers Local 310, laid-off employees will receive 80 percent of their regular pay while they are out of work.
