Briggs Healthcare, a West Des Moines-based health care industry supplier, was recently awarded two exclusive distributorship agreements by clients. Texas-based ErgoNurse Inc. has made Briggs the exclusive seller in the long-term care market of its patented safe patient handling system. “Patient positioning is a key component to patient care and positive patient outcomes,” said Jeff Piggot, vice president of sales at Briggs. “The Ergo Nurse device makes that easy and safer for both patient and caregiver.” Also awarding an exclusive distributorship to Briggs is Boston-based Beantown Bedding, which makes Laundry-Free Linens, an eco-friendly, disposable bed sheet. “Beantown Bedding’s alliance with Briggs represents an opportunity to introduce innovation, with a focus on hygiene and sustainability, to the healthcare community,” said Kirsten Lambert, co-founder of Beantown Bedding. Briggs Healthcare, which employs 227 people in West Des Moines and 116 in Waukegon, Ill., serves more than 50,000 customers in the senior care, home care, acute care, physician and retail markets.
