Iowa Skilled Trades is hosting the Build My Future career day and industry showcase April 17 in the Varied Industries Building at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. The event provides hands-on activities that allow for students and adults to gain exposure to the building and construction industry. An estimated 3,000 students and adults from across the state are expected to attend. Participants will be able to explore bridge building, masonry, welding, pouring concrete, framing, flooring and other skills. Sponsors include Future Ready Iowa, Iowa Department of Education, Iowa Workforce Development, National Association of Home Builders and Skilled Labor Funds.
