The demolition of the Des Moines Iron & Supply Co. Building at 123 S.W. Third St. continued on Feb. 14, as the property’s owner, John McRoberts, discussed his long-term vision for the downtown property west of the Des Moines River.

A crew moving an old gas station from the East Village to a temporary location at the Kathedral church stalled traffic briefly Wednesday after the crew found that the chimney of the gas station was too tall to pass under the Eighth Street bridge on West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
