Business owners remain optimistic
Optimism among small business owners is holding steady in the second quarter of 2007, according to the latest “Wells Fargo/Gallup Small Business Index” survey.
The quarterly survey’s index registered 113, just one point shy of the all-time high of 114 achieved in the fourth quarter of 2006. According to the survey results, 60 percent of business owners report being “extremely satisfied” or “very satisfied” as small business owners, up from 50 percent during the first quarter of this year. Also, 83 percent of respondents said they would “do it all again if given the opportunity,” up from 78 percent three months ago.
The survey from Wells Fargo & Co. and the Gallup Organization tracks small business owners’ perceptions of key issues relating to their businesses, including cash flow, hiring and revenues. Approximately 600 business owners nationwide participated in this quarter’s survey.
