Funeral service arrangements for Jim Goodman, president and founder of Consumer Ease Inc., are expected to be determined later today or early tomorrow, said Jenny Condon of Goodman’s office. The time and location will be made available for people wishing to extend their condolences to the Goodman family. Colleagues at Consumer Ease remind everyone to keep Goodman’s family in their thoughts and prayers. Goodman passed away early Sunday morning after competing in the Hy-Vee Triathlon. Goodman signaled for help during the water portion of the triathlon and was taken away by medical responders.

Meredith Corp. announced today that it has named Executive Vice President Tom Harty to the additional post of chief revenue officer. In this new assignment, Harty’s role will be increasingly external, with an emphasis on senior-level client and agency business development, said Jack Griffin, Meredith Publishing Group president. Harty will lead Meredith’s group sales executives and publishers in developing new business across the enterprise, with a focus on large-scale, multi-platform programs.

The Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute is hosting the Distinguished Leadership Awards luncheon on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The luncheon will be held at The Meadows at Prairie Meadows Racetrack Casino in Altoona. Gov. Chet Culver’s office announced on Saturday that he has tapped Aegon U.S.A. CEO Pat Baird, Rockwell Collins CEO Clay Jones and University of Iowa President Sally Mason to help with a statewide private fund raising initiative that will benefit victims of this year’s flooding and tornadoes. Earlier this week, Culver announced that two Des Moines civic leaders, Barry Griswell and Fred Hubbell, will head the fund raising push.

Wells Fargo & Co. announced today that it has expanded Wells Fargo Private Bank into Oklahoma, naming James “Jay” Quillian as a senior private banker. Wells Fargo Private Bank is co-located with the Wells Fargo Regional Commercial Banking Office at Leadership Square in downtown Oklahoma City. Wells Fargo Private Bank will now provide Oklahoma’s growing number of high-net-worth individuals a range of private banking and wealth management services to help individuals and families build, manage, preserve and transfer their wealth.

Federal officials say that nearly 19,000 Iowans have registered for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The registrations have resulted in more than $22 million in federal disaster aid being approved for individuals and households affected by severe storms, tornadoes and widespread flooding. Officials say the U.S. Small Business Administration has also issued nearly $5 million in loans.
