Iowa Legislative officials and the Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) have extended the trial service provided by the Capitol shuttle, which takes people from the state’s parking ramp at East Grand and Pennsylvania Avenues and the State Historical Building to the west entrance of the Capitol.

A six-week pilot program that began on Jan. 29 was scheduled to end Friday; instead, it will continue through April 27. The shuttle will remain on the same schedule, running continuously from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Each loop takes approximately 10 minutes. The Legislature pays the shuttle’s operating costs.
