Captrust Financial Advisors buys $3.7 billion Texas wealth firm
Raleigh, N.C.-based Captrust Financial Advisors, which has an office in West Des Moines, has acquired South Texas Money Management, a $3.7 billion San Antonio-based wealth management firm, Financial Planning magazine reported. The acquisition, the firm’s largest in the past two years, gives Captrust an office in each of the Texas market’s four largest cities. The aggregator already has a footprint in Dallas, Houston and Austin. Captrust, which has about $10 billion in assets under management, has been one of the most active buyers in a brutally competitive seller’s market, according to the article. South Texas is the firm’s third deal this year.
