Cargill agrees to $110,000 pollution fine
Cargill Inc. has agreed to pay a $110,000 fine and to spend $155,000 to improve pumps to settle a case in which the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency accused the company of failing to properly protect against excess pollution at its Eddyville soybean processing facility. Cargill also agreed to improve its leak detection system, which will be audited by a third party, the EPA reported. Read more
