Ankeny-based Casey’s General Stores Inc. has been named one of the 100 Best Companies in the United States by investment consultant firm DeMarche Associates Inc.

Based on research into corporate results for 2008, the list recognizes companies “for achieving regular performance within the top three percent of all major U.S. corporations,” according to a press release.

Four companies have made the list in each of the program’s seven years: ITT Educational Services Inc.; Landstar System Inc., Walgreen Co. and Wal-Mart Stores Inc.
