Casey’s General Stores Inc., headquartered in Ankeny, announced its third-quarter financial results. Highlights from the quarter that ended Jan. 31 include:

• Diluted earnings per share of $1.71, up 64% from the same period a year ago.
• Inside same-store sales increased 7.6% compared with a year ago. Total inside gross profit was up 14.9% to $403.8 million.
• The amount of fuel sold totaled 621.7 million gallons, compared with 518.4 million gallons sold during the same period a year ago.
• The number of Casey’s stores exceeded 2,400 with the recently completed acquisition of 40 stores from Pilot Corp.
