The Greater Des Moines Partnership, with sponsors RSM McGladrey Inc. and the Des Moines Business Record, will recognize 12 companies at the 2007 Celebrate Business Awards and 2007 Economic Impact Awards ceremony on Oct. 23.

The winners of this year’s Celebrate Business Awards are Aviva USA and Performance Marketing for community champion; Baker Group and Palmer Group for workplace environment; Lutheran Services in Iowa and Talent Acquisition Group LLC for best-kept secret; and LightEdge Solutions Inc. for best workplace for young professionals.

The Economic Impact Awards will go to Embria Health Sciences, Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc., Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc. and Principal Financial Group Inc. The awards recognize those businesses’ impact on job creation, capital investment and facility expansion.

Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority and the Transportation Management Association also will recognize the Des Moines Independent Community School District as the winner of the commuter award, which goes to a company or organization that encourages employees to use alternative modes of transportation.

The awards ceremony will be held Oct. 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hotel Fort Des Moines. Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased online at www.desmoinesmetro.com/events.
