Central College offers summer internships for low-income students

115 wordsEducation, Innovation and EntrepreneurshipCentral College is accepting applications for its Future Ready Iowa: Summer Youth Internship Program. The six-week program runs July 8 to Aug. 16 and is designed for low-income students from Marion County at risk of not graduating high school. Central recently received a $50,530 grant to create a high-demand career internship program in conjunction with Pella Corp., Precision Inc. and Vermeer Corp. The Iowa Association of Business and Industry is collaborating with Central to include one week of Business Horizons participation during the program. Students who complete the program will be eligible for a $1,500 scholarship and one college credit should they choose to attend Central College. To apply, visit central.edu/future-ready-iowa.
