Five Central Iowa schools and a nonprofit group are among the 99 entities receiving grants from Casey’s General Stores Inc.’s Cash for Classrooms program. The program, which raised $1 million, supports projects and initiatives in K-12 schools in the states in which Casey’s does business. The Cash for Classrooms grants were made possible by donations from Casey’s guests during its January round-up campaign, a meal deal partnership between Casey’s and LIFEWTR, a PepsiCo brand. Area schools that were provided grants include Heritage and Southeast elementary schools in Ankeny, Grant Ragan Elementary School in Waukee, St. Anthony’s School in Des Moines, and North Polk Middle School in Alleman. Junior Achievement of Central Iowa was also awarded a grant.
