CenturyLink is moving to offer businesses in some areas Internet service that is 10 times faster than its previous offerings. The company had offered this speed before, but a new technology is extending the service to small and medium-sized businesses. The 1 gigabit per second service will be connected to 4,443 Iowa businesses, including northwest Des Moines, Clive, Johnston, Urbandale, West Des Moines and Windsor Heights, said Stefan Pittinger, CenturyLink vice president of enterprise business for the Midwest. “This is like the difference between being on a country road or a highway,” Pittinger said. “You can get more done.” Read more
