Chamber Alliance calls for tax code changes

139 wordsAll Latest News, Economic Development, Government Policy and LawThe Iowa Chamber Alliance’s legislative agenda for the next session calls for continued tax reform, lower corporate income taxes, changes in property taxes and continued support of economic development incentives.
The Alliance, which represents the 16 largest Chambers of Commerce and economic development organizations in Iowa also called for full funding of Future Ready Iowa, which seeks to connect workers with training and education in an effort to ease Iowa’s workforce shortage.
The group also supports:
- Support for K-12 programs that help make graduates ready for post-secondary education or a career.
- Added spending on Workforce Housing Tax Credit and changes to the program to adjust to different needs of various communities.
- “Strong fiscal prudence and spending restraint across all levels of government.”
- Planning, matching and careful allocation of funds to support critical infrastructure.
- “Predictable and responsive” regulations.
