(See map.) The site will not support a full-service bank and Chase has agreed not to include drive-thru lanes, Michael Simonson of Simonson & Associates told West Des Moines’ Planning and Development Subcommittee. However, the bank wants a remote ATM on the site, Simonson said. The bank is proposing constructing a 3,362-square-foot building. Bank officials estimated that eight employees would be located at the bank. Concerns had been raised by West Des Moines city staff about the availability of parking on the site and the size of the proposed building. Simonson said Red Robin is agreeable to having the bank as a neighbor. City Council members Matt McKinney and Renee Hardman said they were supportive of the proposed bank development. Chase recently opened its second Iowa retail branch, located at 6150 S.E. 14th St. in Des Moines.
