Children’s Cancer Connection moving to Johnston
Children’s Cancer Connection announced today that it will move to a new space in Johnston early next year, and will be named the Jeff and Deb Hansen Home for Home. The current facility is at 2708 Grand Avenue in Des Moines, but it will move into a space at 5701 Greendale Road in Johnston, the organization announced in a release. Children’s Cancer Connection CEO Jennifer Hines said the new location is ADA-compliant, has more space for parking and room for programming and activities, and is in a family-friendly neighborhood. “After listening to feedback from the families that we serve, we understood that our current facility had too many limitations to meet their needs,” Hines said in the release. “We are ecstatic to provide a space that’s more accommodating and inclusive for all of the families that we serve.” The nonprofit organization serves more than 700 families annually that have been affected by pediatric cancer. Children’s Cancer Connection will move out of its current building by Dec. 20 and will be in its new facility by Jan. 4. More information can be found at childrenscancerconnection.org.
